Convenience Stores and Gas Stations
The Island Store (a convenience/gas station) sells
convenience foods, phone cards and a small selection of British items,
including newspapers. Take the front entrance out of Thousand Oaks
and turn Right onto Ronald Reagan Pkwy. About 2 miles down the road
you will see The Island Store (Chevron) on the right.
A 24-hr Gas station/Convenience Store is located
across from the Walgreen's (see directions below.)
Loughman Post Office can be found on
Ronald Regan Parkway on the right before the rail road tracks. It stays
open until 5pm with the mail pick-up at 4:15pm.
Loughman Fire Department is located
opposite the Post Office.
The County Park is located on the Old
Kissimmee Road, just north of Ronald Regan Parkway. The Sheriff’s
sub-station is located on the front section of the park. There is a large
open area with picnic tables under the shady oaks and the playground
offers basketball and baseball courts and one softball field. Younger
children can enjoy slides, swings, a jungle gym and badminton.
Publix Supermarket at Champions Gate I-4 Exit 5 minutes drive. This closes at 9:00pm.
Take Thousand Oaks Blvd (turn Left out of the
cul-de-sac) and follow the road to its junction with Old Lake Wilson
Road. Turn left. This is the rear entrance to the subdivision. Follow
this narrow road to its junction with Osceola-Polk Line Road (Rd532), and
turn left. Continue along this road (aprox. 3 miles) until you reach
Champions Gate retail center.
Walgreen's Pharmacy is under a 10
minute drive at the junction of Ronald Reagan Pkwy and Highway 27.
This is not a 24-hr pharmacy.
Follow directions, as above, however pass through Champions
Gate and continue to the the Junction with Ronald Regan PKWY.
Turn right onto RR PKWY and continue straight until you almost reach the
Junction for HWY 27. Walgreen's is located on the right. There is a
24-hour convenience store across from Walgreen's.
Kissimmee (for Wal-mart, Restaurants,
Shopping) 15-20 minutes
Take Thousand Oaks Blvd and follow the road to its
junction with Old Lake Wilson Road. Turn right. Follow this back road
to its junction with Ronald Regan PKWY. Turn left.
At the junction with US HWY 17-29 (South Orange
Blossom Trail), turn left. Follow this road for 10-15 minutes passing
through Intercession City until you reach the lights at Poinciana Blvd.
Stay in the left lane and turn left onto Poinciana Blvd.
There will soon be an on-ramp available for the 532
County Road which will provide another way (slightly shorter driving
distance) to reach HWY 17-92 for Kissimmee.
Haines City (for Super Wal-mart, Restaurants,
etc.) 15-20 minutes drive time.
Take Thousand Oaks front exit and turn Right onto
Ronald Reagan Pkwy. Follow for about 10 minutes or until the
junction of HWY 27. Turn Left onto 27 and follow for about 10 miles
until you reach Haines City. Super Wal-Mart is on the Left.
Horse World Stables are just 10 minutes
along Poinciana Blvd if you turn right instead.
Follow this road passing Green Meadows Petting
Farm on left and Eagle Point Sub-division on right. Watch carefully
for the turning coming up on your right for Oren Brown Road. There is
usually construction work going on in this area, widening the road and
building activity. Turn right into Oren Brown Road. Pass Lake Berkley
Resort on right and also Medieval Times on left. You will see the back
entrance to Wal-mart’s parking lot on the right. You are in the center of
Kissimmee, turn left or right to travel up and down US HWY 192 for
shopping and entertainment.
Universal Studios/SeaWorld/International
Drive/Belz Factory Outlets 25 minutes drive
Take the rear entrance from Thousand Oaks, heading
toward Champions Gate and you will see the I-4 on ramp before the bridge
ahead. Turn right to join the Interstate. Remember – for the journey
home – its EXIT 58 at Champions Gate.
Heart of Florida Hospital 10 minutes
Take the rear entrance from Thousand Oaks, heading
toward Champions Gate and go under the bridge, staying in the left lane.
Join the I-4 sign for Tampa. Travel along I-4 to Exit 55 Haines City and
Clermont. Stay right as the road curves around and join US HWY 27 heading
South. Travel for approximately 2.5 miles and you will see the Heart of
Florida Hospital on the right. Drive past the building as the Emergency
Room entrance is past the front entrance.
Champions Gate retail center,
conveniently located off Interstate 4 (I4) at Junction 58, is a 5 minute
drive from Thousand Oaks. Take the back entrance from the
sub-division, turning left onto Old Lake Wilson Road. Follow this
narrow road (do not turn the curve to the left, but go straight at the
curve) to its junction with Osceola-Polk Line Road (Rd532), and turn left.
Continue along Road 532 (aprox. 3 miles) until you reach
Champions Gate retail center. You will go through a stop-light at
the junction of Road 532 and Lake Wilson Road.
There is a planned gas station and Wal-greens for
Champions Gate along with other retail out-parcels still available.
You will find a well stocked and friendly staffed
Publix Supermarket there. If there is something you cannot find in this
store, try the brand new Publix store on Highway 27 going north, opposite
Ron’s Golf Carts – as they boast a wide range of products for the shopping
connoisseur.
Champions Gate has a UPS Store run by Clay and
Patrick. The mail pick-up here is at 12 noon and the store stays open
until 6.30pm Monday through Friday and until 3pm on Saturdays.
McDonalds, Subway, China 1 and La Crepe (a French
owned and run restaurant) all offer great food, with China 1 delivering
free to our community. There is also a pizzeria that delivers to the
community.
Other stores include a Hair Cuttery, real
estate, video rental store and a phone store who will rent walkie-talkies
to tourists on vacation.
